As we celebrate Women’s Day on the 9th of August, The Dairy Den wants to create awareness of the exacerbated effect that the Covid-19 crisis has had for women in abusive relationships. For these women in need the support they receive from NGOs is essential to their survival.
For the month of August The Dairy Den is focusing its #DonutsForDoers initiative on the Doers who tirelessly dedicate their energy to protecting women and who actively fight against gender-based violence.
The Dairy Den needs your help to reach these Essential Workers by donating from our Women’s Month options.
The Dairy Den will donate the same number of donuts ordered and deliver them for free to our featured organisations throughout August.
The Saartjie Baartman Centre was opened in 1999 as the first multi-disciplinary service (one-stop) centre for abused women and children in South Africa. This provided an opportunity for organisations to come together as partners to develop an appropriate on-site multi-agency service delivery model for the effective management, treatment and prevention of violence against women and children.
Sisters Incorporated aims to help every woman, teenager and child in crisis heal physically, emotionally and spiritually. Sisters Incorporated is a beacon of hope in a community ravaged by domestic violence and abuse; providing care, lodging, counseling and skills to those who need it the most.
